What the above list doesn’t include is their publisher, Rodale, who took aggressive marketing to the next level. Between pre-sales four months in advance at the Boston Marathon and strategic fun runs all over the states, not to mention the publicity of Flanagan’s performance in the Olympics, Rodale had a recipe (pun intended) for success.
